Garden Accessories will be more engaging, self sustaining and productive. Yep, at least with Green Walls and Urban Gnomes

Oh thank heavens - its official - our gardens are going to be more engaging, self sustaining and productive in the future according to the Viewpoint Magazine published by the Future Laboratory in London. I can only assume by that futuristic statement that garden accessories and garden art and ornaments will become more interesting as well?

The bearded gnome of the 70's has definitely be reinvented and is far more engaging with today's (sub) urban street culture. These little garden accessories have been transformed into the street-cred variety urban gnome - one aesthetic of course can not engage all - thankfully Garden Beet stocks 12 design depending on your tribe's aesthetics and mores.

But probably the most engaging, self sustaining and productive garden accessory products at Garden Beet are the Woolly Wally Pocket green wall planters. These wonder wall creations are made from recycled plastic bottles. The wall planters allow you to grow plants on most indoor and outdoor walls. Furthermore you can grow your herbs and smaller vegetables right on your kitchen wall or conservatory. Walls comprised of gourmet salad mix here with come. Just add vinegar, pepper, salt and voilà.

Eco Garden Accessories. | Recycled Plastic Coffee Cups and the Contemporary Garden. Eco Gifts for your Gardener.

The much maligned plastic is being re-embraced by the green movement - as long as it has had a previous life. Good old coffee cups are now being recycled into Garden Accessories galore.

Garden Beet has just had to insert some more virtual shelving for our new garden accessory friends that are all about telling the time and weather- yes, garden clocks, sundials and outdoor garden clocks with thermometers. Up till quite recently the contemporary garden has had little opportunity to style its space with time telling.

Garden Clocks have tended to suit a more quaint cottage garden aesthetic - which is fine but not quite what Garden Beet Gardens are about. Thankfully some clever product designer by a southern UK beach has idenitifed this gap and has managed to divert potential land fill into useful contemporary garden accessories. A big yeah to him. Made in the UK these garden accessories are very eco-chic and would make great eco gifts

Plus they are remarkably affordable. What a chic garden accessory clock for less than £27?

And the clocks do not have a cheap plastic appearance either - looks similar to natural slate and has a heavy earthy feel. My favourite is the station clock which would be a unique garden gift for many contemporary gardeners.

And you thought you did not need another handbag or hanging basket ever again

The hanging basket has morphed into a handbag named Vagabond from the Woolly Pocket Garden Company. This plant filled handbag likes to go for walks.Check out Garden Beet's Garden Design Blog for further details on the new garden and fashion accessories. Great for those who enjoy indoor gardening with a 70's feel.

Meanwhile the Mooroco hanging planter in its super slick stainless steel is currently in search of a garden accessory fashion fiend who can whip up a basket storm. Garden Beet is offering a discount to anyone who purchases more than 3 in exchange for loads of design excitement and photos that will be used on Garden Beet's website.

Hanging baskets are traditionally filled with flowering pansies and other candy delights. The Morocco and Vagabond are begging for new arrangments. If you have a an interesting foliage display Garden Beet would love to see pics  - send to ask@gardenbeet.com
